Meet Vanessa Ann Stanley
Visionary
Vanessa Ann Stanley is from Johns Island SC. Born to Walter & (late)Anna Stanley she is the youngest of four girls(Stephanie, Tiffany & Patricia). Vanessa's passion started at the young age of four for music where she began singing and pursuing her musical career into her young adult life. Vanessa started pursuing stage plays where she put on her first production and composed music for entitled "The Big 50" which debut in 2012 in Charleston, SC.
In 2019 Vanessa went on to put on her biggest production titled "When My Life Changed." which now she has released the stage play(March 2019) & a tv series in March 2026 and is releasing the book May 23rd 2026. Vanessa is the mother of one daughter, Brenasia Singleton.
Beyond the Vision
In 2018 when the story When My Life Changed came to Vanessa she was already thinking ahead into the future. Vanessa created the stage play and released it in March of 2019 and had her first successful sold out show where she sold out a venue of 750 guest. Upon completion of the release of the success of When My Life Changed Stage Play; personally Vanessa alongside her family was dealing with the passing of her mother Anna Stanley in December of 2019. From there she dealt with a lot emotionally having praising and crediting her mother as one of her greatest motivations. Seven years had passed, but she never forgot the plan that was already written in 2019. Fast forward to January of 2025, she set in motion to film When My Life Changed as a TV Series in October of 2025 and did all the casting and background work in three months of mentally preparing herself. Vanessa in her break from music and filmography had completed three seasons of the series and had copyrighted all of her vision. Vanessa's premiere of the tv series received great reviews and people can't wait to see more of what she has in stored.
Vanessa has set to release When My Life Changed Volume One of the book on May 23, 2026 to Amazon. Her official book signing and meet and greet is Saturday May 30th at the johns island county library located 3531 Maybank Hwy Johns Island, SC at 2PM. Beyond Film & Music
Vanessa has other endeavors in which she is passionate about. She has owned and operated her own boutique called DBD Fashions since October 2020 during the covid pandemic. Vanessa completed her fashion degree at The Parsons Fashion Institute of New York in June 2025. Alongside music, filmography, composing music and writing her passion includes:
Shopping with her sisters and daughter, traveling with the family, enjoying and creating memories, laughing and being a jokester with her daughter, and holiday caroling.
Vanessa also is contributed as a big charity donator in the city of Charleston, sc. When she does her stage plays she is often picking a charity and donates to their causes.
